Job summary

Demil Transport Services LLC seeks an experienced UXO Technician to support ordnance response projects, conduct reconnaissance, classification, and disposal of UXO in accordance with federal, state, and local laws. The role involves operating magnetometers, handling storage, and planning on-site disposal sites.

You will perform field procedures, decontamination, and radiographic checks, with extensive safety protocols.

Qualifications

Graduate of a military EOD School or UXO-TI Course with MEC-related experience.
OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification (annual refresher).
Biannual physician's work release after OSHA physical.
On-the-job training for MEC-related activities and equipment used.
CDL with HAZMAT endorsement a plus.
Experience operating heavy equipment (loader, excavator, etc.).
Knowledge of oxyacetylene welding and cutting a plus.
Able to operate in austere environments.

Responsibilities

Reconnaissance and classification of UXO; identification of munitions and fuses.
Locate subsurface UXO using magnetometers; excavate buried UXO.
Handle storage and disposal of UXO and demolition materials; prepare disposal sites.
Dispose of UXO via burning/detonation and manage decontamination stations.
Inspect and protect UXO-related materials; perform hazardous material handling.
Demilitarization actions per DoD DoD 4160.21 and residue processing for recyclers.
