Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a UXO Technician II to support munitions response actions and range clearance across multiple U.S. locations, including Houston, TX. The role involves detection, recovery, and disposal of UXO and MEC in field environments.

Ideal candidates have at least 3 years EOD/UXO experience, 40-Hour HAZWOPER, and the ability to work safely in remote conditions, with US citizenship. You will perform identification, excavation, storage, and disposal tasks, and assist with field reporting

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of EOD/UXO experience, including munitions response or range clearance.
• Current 40-Hour HAZWOPER with annual refresher.
• Experience recognizing MEC/UXO during field operations.
• Knowledge of explosive safety procedures and PPE usage.

Responsibilities

• Perform reconnaissance, identification, and classification of UXO, including missiles, bombs, grenades, rockets, and mines.
• Conduct subsurface UXO investigations using magnetometers and approved equipment.
• Excavate and recover buried UXO using manual and mechanical methods.
• Locate and identify surface UXO through visual inspection and field reconnaissance.
• Maintain safe holding areas for recovered UXO and manage storage of demolition materials.
• Prepare UXO disposal sites, support demolition operations, and assemble firing systems for disposal.
• Conduct disposal of UXO and explosives via approved burn or detonation methods.
• Adhere to health and safety requirements, explosive safety standards, and project procedures.
• Support technical documentation, field reporting, and data collection.
