Job summary
New York State UX Engineer – Level II role seeks a senior UX professional to collaborate with stakeholders, designers, developers, and technical teams to deliver user-centered digital solutions supporting New York State strategic initiatives.
The consultant will design, develop, and implement client-facing and internal applications; conduct user research and usability testing; create UX deliverables; and work closely with developers to translate designs into functional digital experiences across
Qualifications
- 7+ years of UX experience including at least 2 years in a leadership role as a UX Engineer.
- 7+ years delivering UX artifacts across the design lifecycle (wireframes, mockups, journey maps, prototypes, storyboards, user surveys).
- 1–2 years on Integrated Eligibility System (IES) programs in Health and Human Services context.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand goals and solve complex problems.
- Design, develop, and implement client-facing and internal applications.
- Create solutions aligning enterprise architecture with NYS requirements.
- Conduct user research, usability testing, and present findings.
- Develop UX deliverables: models, flows, wireframes, prototypes, sitemaps.
- Collaborate with developers to implement designs and build prototypes.
- Collect UX metrics to validate usability.
- Design experiences for web, iOS, Android.
