Duties include caring for and maintaining park grounds and other City of Amarillo facilities. Participants will attend training courses and complete the assigned coursework.**ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES*** Perform general cleaning, labor, and maintenance tasks to ensure City parks and other City of Amarillo facilities are safe and presentable* Collect litter, waste, and debris to support cleanliness and enhance the appearance of public spaces across City departments* Maintain a safe, clean, and cooperative work environment, following all safety protocols and reporting hazards promptly* Respond to weather-related conditions by participating in clean-up efforts, such as snow and ice removal, when needed* Participate in special assignments or beautification projects as directed by supervisor* Engage in short-term externships in other City departments to gain cross-functional knowledge and assist with department-specific duties* Participate in educational training classes to enhance computer literacy skills* Receive guidance and support in identifying future employment or educational opportunities aligned with individual strengths and interests* Participate in job readiness training activities, including resume building, job search, application completion, and interview skill development* Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and the public to ensure a positive representation of the City of Amarillo* Perform other job-related duties as assigned**MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS**Prior experience in light groundskeeping and custodial duties is preferred.
