City of Amarillo is seeking a Utility Technician to support the Surface Water Treatment unit. Under supervision, you will perform skilled and semi-skilled maintenance of buildings, grounds and equipment used in the water treatment plant.
Responsibilities include assisting mechanics with preventative maintenance, seasonal grounds work, wash-down of treatment basins, and logging daily hours. The role requires physical work outdoors and adherence to safety protocols.

Under supervision, this position performs skilled and semi-skilled task in the maintenance of buildings, grounds and equipment used in a water treatment plant.
Assists the mechanics in the performance of their duties including preventative maintenance and yearly inspections.
Performs summer/winter grounds maintenance, including the operation/servicing of equipment used and operation/maintenance of irrigation systems.
Performs wash-down of contactor basins, sedimentation basins, all flumes and wet wells in the treatment facility.
Prepares and submits daily necessary paper work and accurately logs hours on job reports, and work orders.
Performs morning unlock/preparation and evening lockup of the building/work area.
Performs housekeeping duties as assigned.
Paints buildings and equipment as assigned.
Works overtime and responds to callbacks as required by workload or emergencies.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
A High School Diploma or its equivalent preferred. Valid Texas Driver’s License required.
