Job summary

Sonoco Hartsville Cylinder Mill is hiring a Utility Worker I to support paper machines and stock prep. You will substitute for crew members, assist with startup, and help remove broke from lines as needed.

Ideal candidates have a strong safety record and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The role requires lifting up to 50 pounds, weekend overtime, and teamwork to ensure smooth operations and quality output.

Qualifications

• Safety, attendance, quality and performance history are essential.
• Willingness to move into paper machine roles as needed.
• Ability to work overtime, including weekends, as required.

Responsibilities

• Follow Safe Standard Procedures for all tasks.
• Lift up to 50 pounds and assist in machine startup and felting.
• Assist with scrap handling, waste paper, and roll processing.
• Inspect equipment daily and support housekeeping in area.

This position involves substituting for paper machine crew members.
