Sonoco Hartsville Cylinder Mill is hiring a Utility Worker I to support paper machines on rotating 12-hour shifts. You will lift heavy items, perform safe operating procedures, and assist with machine start-ups and scrap processing.

Responsibilities

• Follow Safe Standard Procedures for all assigned tasks.
• Lift and move items up to 50 pounds as needed.
• Assist in machine felting, startup and sheet changes; remove broke after breaks.
• Help haul rejected rolls and retrieve shipping materials as required.
• Inspect powered equipment; complete forklift inspection daily.
• Train on fork truck and Bobcat operations; operate as needed.
• Cut/remove wire on waste paper bales; process scrap rolls with a guillotine.
• Identify grades of waste paper; keep the area clean and organized.

This position involves substituting for paper machine crew members.
