Job summary

Asplundh Tree Expert, LLC in New York’s Town of Oneonta is seeking a Trimmer/Climber. The role focuses on trimming, topping, and reshaping trees to clear powerlines, with duties including operating equipment and maintaining safe work sites.

This is a full-time, non-exempt position with a union affiliation and an hourly pay range of $23.15 to $31.44. Benefits are variable by location and position.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older.
• No fear of heights.
• Excellent hand-to-eye coordination.
• Able to walk, climb, and work from ladders, at various heights, on uneven and slippery surfaces under demanding conditions.
• Able to work with hands above head for extended periods.
• Willing to join the local union and pay union dues.

Responsibilities

• Trim and remove trees, branches, and trunk sections.
• Operate and service required tools/equipment.
• Load/unload trucks and feed debris into a woodchipper.
• Maintain safe work areas and protect employees and the public.
• Assist training of new employees and perform routine inspections of equipment.
