Job summary

Haleon in Lincoln, Nebraska, is seeking a Utilities Technician to maintain core facilities equipment used in pharmaceutical manufacturing, troubleshoot, inspect, repair, and document work in compliance with SOPs and Quality requirements. You will perform preventive maintenance, study blueprints, and assist in planning, installation, and improvements while supporting EHS goals and safe operations.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of a HS Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
  • A minimum of 6 months of Facilities/Utilities equipment maintenance experience (or related experience) is required.
  • 3 years of Facilities/Utilities equipment maintenance experience is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain equipment in compliant state by ensuring that documentation and audit trail is kept intact and required maintenance is performed.
  • Execute preventative maintenance (PM) instructions based on maintenance schedules.
  • Disassemble equipment to remove parts and make repairs. Examine parts for defects such as breakage and excessive wear. Repair and replace broken and malfunctioning components.
  • Reassemble equipment after completion of inspections, testing, or repairs. Operate newly repaired and equipment to verify the adequacy of repairs. Document the work, parts and materials used to comply with SOPs and Quality requirements.
  • Study blueprints and manufacturers’ manuals to determine correct installation and operation of machinery.
  • Participate in the planning, installation, and improvement of equipment. Responsible for writing and performing of technical procedures, change controls, and keeping drawings and schematics up to date. Support and meet departmental, plant, and corporate EHS goals. Work in a safe and efficient manner.

About the role

The Utilities Technician is responsible for maintaining equipment in a compliant state, troubleshooting, inspecting, repairing, and documenting work on core facilities equipment or systems that support the manufacture and packaging of pharmaceutical products.

Role Responsibilities

Why you?
Basic Qualifications
  • A minimum of a HS Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
  • A minimum of 6 months of Facilities/Utilities equipment maintenance experience (or related experience) is required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3 years of Facilities/Utilities equipment maintenance experience is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to repair and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform basic electrical repairs like sensor replacements, electrical connections, motor wiring and others.
  • Demonstrated skill in interpreting and applying specifications, blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions in order to perform installation, repair, and modification work.
  • Computer skills (Word, Excel, email, internet).
  • Demonstrated knowledge of safety compliance.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Preferred knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing in Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) including validation issues and change control processes.

Location – this role is based in: Lincoln, Nebraska. This is not a remote opportunity.

Schedule: 2nd shift, Mon-Fri 2:30p - 11p with occasional weekends and extended hours.
