Job summary

Justice Management Division, Facilities and Administrative Services Staff (FASS), Justice Building Services Staff, seeks a Utility Systems Repairer - Operator to maintain and repair utility systems across RFK operations.   • Experience includes running a centralized, multiple zone air conditioning system and a high temperature/pressure boiler plant that contains more components, controls, gauges, electromechanical, electronics and auxiliary equipment than the standard type.
  • Troubleshooting, maintaining, repairing and replacing defective equipment and components in energy plants and HVAC systems.
  • Interpretating engineering drawings that combine electrical and electronic schematics, logic diagrams, and mechanical drawings to trace signal flow throughout a system.
  • Using tools and test equipment to troubleshoot components and make repairs.

Job description

This position is with the Justice Management Division, Facilities and Administrative Services Staff (FASS), Justice Building Services Staff. The Justice Buildings Services is responsible for performing functions with respect to the operations, maintenance, repair, preservation, alteration, furnishing, equipment and custody of the Robert F. Kennedy, Main Justice Building (RFK).

To qualify for the position of Utility Systems Repairer - Operator, at WG-4742-11 you must meet the basic qualification requirements listed below.

Qualifications

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.
