Offices-to-go is seeking a Utility Systems Repairer-Operator (WG-4742-11) to join our federal operations team. You will monitor, maintain and repair large-scale boiler and HVAC systems, ensuring safe, reliable power and climate control across facilities.
This role requires experience with centralized, multi-zone air conditioning and high-temperature boiler plants, plus the ability to interpret complex engineering diagrams and troubleshoot advanced equipment.
To qualify for the position of Utility Systems Repairer - Operator, at WG-4742-11you must meet the basic qualification requirements listed below.
Qualifications: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.
1) Ability to do the work of a Utility Systems Repairer Operator without more than normal supervision; Knowledge of boiler plant, HVAC, water treatment plant operations and mechanics is required. Experience includes running a centralized, multiple zone air conditioning system and a high temperature/pressure boiler plant that contains more components, controls, gauges, electromechanical, electronics and auxiliary equipment than the standard type; troubleshooting maintaining, repairing and replacing defective equipment and components in energy plants and HVAC systems; interpretating engineering drawings that combine electrical and electronic schematics, logic diagrams, and mechanical drawings in order to trace signal flow throughout a system; and using tools and test equipment to troubleshoot components and make repairs.
