Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a qualified Applications Engineer to provide technical application support for power conversion products in utility-scale solar and energy storage projects across North America. You will assist Sales teams during customer engagements, review site conditions, interconnection requirements, and device configurations.

You will collaborate with Product and Engineering, prepare compliance documents, and support field deployments, factory visits, and project qualifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of applications engineering or related experience.
• Experience with solar inverters, PCS, BESS is preferred.
• Ability to read electrical drawings and standards.
• Willingness to travel occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical application support for power conversion products.
• Support Sales and Technical Sales during customer engagements.
• Review customer requirements and project specifications.
• Propose inverter and PCS configurations based on system needs.
• Prepare technical documentation and submittals.
• Work with Product and Engineering to assess fit and exceptions.
• Support system integration discussions with developers and utilities.
• Assist with grid interconnection reviews and protection schemes.
• Support customer meetings and project qualification discussions.
• Capture feedback and opportunities for product improvements.
• Handoff from sales to project execution and service.
• Troubleshoot issues and coordinate field support.
• Maintain knowledge of codes and trends (UL, IEEE, NEC, NEMA).
• Develop standard tools and templates to improve efficiency.
