Eastern, located in Buxton, ME, is seeking a Utility Representative to ensure safe delivery of liquid fuel products and support the Service department. The role requires operating a commercial vehicle, maintaining licensing, and adhering to DOT/SOP standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Age 21 years or older.
• Valid state license for vehicle size and endorsements.
• DOT medical certificate required; DOT drug and alcohol tests required.
• Maine Delivery Technician License preferred.
• Tank Setter and Pipe Technician License preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate a commercial motor vehicle to transport liquid fuel products in all weather and at any time.
• Unload liquid fuel from vehicle, including up to 150 feet of hose.
• Comply with company policies and DOT/SOP standards; maintain licensure.
• Report unsafe conditions to supervisor and adhere to safety meetings and training.
• Perform leak checks per NFPA Code 58 and restart system appliances.
• Install and maintain tank monitors; perform offseason facility maintenance; assist Service and Installation Technicians as needed.

About this opportunity

This position will ensure the safe delivery of liquid products to our customers and provide support to the Service department as needed.

The anticipated pay range for this position is $75,000 to $90,000.

What your role will look like

• Operate a commercial motor vehicle to transport liquid fuel products in every weather condition and at any time, day or night.
• Unload liquid fuel products from vehicle, which includes pulling up to 150 feet of delivery hose.
• Support Eastern’s policies and procedures by maintaining required licensure and meeting DOT and SOP standards.
• Remain alert and focused and otherwise complete work in a safe manner, including reporting any unsafe conditions to the supervisor immediately.
• Demonstrate a commitment to safety by engaging in safety meetings, safety training, and safety refreshers, alerting supervisor to unsafe actions, and modeling safety-conscious practices.
• Perform leak checks in accordance with National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Code #58 and restart system appliances.
• Install and maintain tank monitors.
• Maintain organized and professional standards and appearance in dress, hygiene, cleanliness of vehicle.
• Perform maintenance of facility during off-season including painting, mowing, trimming, raking, weeding, tank preparation, tank evacuation, and meter reading.
• Provide support to the Service department, as needed, to include the following functions:
  • Perform tank swaps and inspections in accordance with Department of Transportation (DOT) standards.
  • Perform cathodic testing of underground tanks and DOT tank inspections.
  • Operate crane truck for setting, installing, and transporting propane tanks.
  • Assist certified Service and Installation Technicians with equipment installation.

What you’ll bring to this role

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Age requirement: minimum of 21 years old.
• Licensure/Certification:
  • Valid state license for size vehicle and appropriate endorsements.
  • Submit to and pass DOT physical.
  • Submit to and pass DOT drug and alcohol tests.
  • Proven history of a safe driving record and must maintain same.
  • Maine Delivery Technician License Preferred.
  • Tank Setter and Pipe Technician License Preferred.
