Job summary

STV is seeking a Utility Coordinator in the Charlotte, NC area to oversee utility coordination and relocations for NCDOT and municipal projects. The role involves managing resources to identify conflicts and supervise relocations before construction contracts begin.

You will develop relocation strategies, interpret plans, coordinate with NCDOT and utility owners, and mentor junior staff while contributing to STV’s culture of work-life balance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of related experience.
• Valid state driver’s license with clean driving record.
• 1-3 years of experience in MicroStation v8i and/or OpenRoads Designer.
• Knowledge of ProjectWise software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop utility relocations strategies and provide coordination/relocation services to accomplish removal, relocation, and modification of utility facilities.
• Interpret highway construction plans and specifications to identify utility impacts.
• Coordinate meetings with NCDOT, utility owners, and contractors; prepare agendas and minutes.
• Oversee utility relocation plans and schedules; determine cost responsibility and assist with agreements.
• QA/QC of relocation packages submitted to NCDOT; prepare Environmental Permit drawings and narratives.
• Prepare and QA/QC Utility by Others (UBO) plans in MicroStation/OpenRoads; assist with field investigations.
• Maintain proficiency with Microsoft Office software and related tools.
