Job summary

Actalent is seeking a detail-oriented Project Manager/Engineer/Coordinator to lead complex utility projects in Detroit, MI, from initiation through closeout. This hybrid role requires coordinating with vegetation, environmental teams, procurement, and finance to keep workplans on track.

You will manage planning, budgets, schedules, risks, and client communications while mentoring coordinators and field staff to ensure safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of project management and utility experience.
• Proficiency in MS Project, Excel, Power BI, and SharePoint or SAP.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Lead all phases of project management: planning, execution, monitoring, and closeout.
• Coordinate internal and external resources to ensure project execution.
• Track and manage project budgets, schedules, and risks.
• Act as the primary point of contact for clients and project stakeholders.
• Prepare status reports, forecasts, and presentations for clients and leadership.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, safety protocols, and industry standards.
• Mentor and support project team members including coordinators and field staff.
• Monitor projects from conception to completion, ensuring all steps are completed in a timely manner.
• Work with various departments to balance workplan completion, resources, and new business workload.
• Serve as the single point of contact for project-related issues and coordinate redesigns as needed.
• Collaborate with Resource Planners on forecasting crew movement for successful project completion.
• Provide weekly updates to Program Managers and Directors on project statuses.
• Participate in problem-solving and lean management efforts to improve processes and gain efficiencies.
