Job summary

Metro Engineering Solutions, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented Project Manager to lead complex utility projects from initiation through closeout. The role requires coordinating cross-functional teams, clients, and regulatory stakeholders to ensure scope, schedule, and budget targets are met.

This position is onsite in Lansing three days per week with two days for remote work. You will manage budgets, schedules, risks, and serve as the main client contact, producing status reports and forecasts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or General Business.
• 5+ years of project management and utility experience.
• PMP certification or equivalent preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Excel, Power BI, and SharePoint.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Lead all phases of project management: planning, execution, monitoring, and closeout
• Coordinate internal and external resources to ensure project execution
• Track and manage project budgets, schedules, and risks
• Act as the primary point of contact for clients and project stakeholders
• Prepare status reports, forecasts, and presentations for clients and leadership
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, safety protocols, and industry standards
• Mentor and support project team members including coordinators and field staff
