Job summary

ENGIE North America operates campus utility plants and is seeking a Utility Plant Operator I to monitor and operate a range of equipment including boilers, turbines, chillers and emergency generators. The role includes hands-on tasks, routine maintenance, and maintaining logs in a strict safety environment.

The position follows a 12-hour fixed shift (days or nights) on a 2-2-3 cycle with every other weekend off, plus training to obtain the State of Ohio Stationary Steam Engineer's License within

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must attend worksite daily.
• Valid U.S. driver's license.
• Comply with ENGIE safety policies.
• Outdoor work up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Monitor plant systems, take readings, and adjust operations for performance and efficiency.
• Respond to alarms and changing system conditions.
• Perform equipment inspections and basic troubleshooting.
• Execute equipment startup, shutdown, and Lockout/Tagout procedures.
• Operate boilers, turbines, chillers, generators, and related utility systems.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of plant equipment and work areas.
• Communicate effectively with incoming shifts to ensure continuity of operations.
