Job summary

Indiana University Health in Indianapolis seeks a Powerhouse Operator to maintain the Central Utility Plant's electro/mechanical systems. This is a full-time 40-hour-per-week role with an on-call rotation, and a night shift from 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM.

You will operate, repair and document preventive maintenance on boilers, generators and related equipment, monitor meters and gauges, and regulate water, fuel, steam pressure and oxygen safely.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Power Engineering Certification preferred.
• Knowledge of stationary engines, electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Familiarity with federal, state, local, OSHA and Joint Commission regulations.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and diagrams.
• Minimum of 2 years relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Operate, repair, document and perform preventive maintenance on powerhouse electro/mechanical systems.
• Operate stationary engines and mechanical equipment to provide utility services.
• Monitor meters and gauges to regulate flow of water, fuel, steam pressure and oxygen.
• Follow safety standards and regulatory codes.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
