AC Hotel Reston / Residence Inn Reston in Reston, VA is seeking a dedicated Utility Person/Kitchen General Cleaner to handle the storage and sanitation of dinnerware, silverware, and glassware and to assist with general cleaning tasks throughout the hotel.

You will operate dishwashing machines, maintain proper chemical connections, and follow safety procedures while performing daily cleaning duties in a 24/7 hospitality environment.

Responsabilidades

• Operate dishwashing machines.
• Ensure dishwasher temperature is within range and chemicals connected.
• Properly clean and disinfect the dishwashing machine.
• Sweep and mop floors; check for hazards and remove them.
• Clean walls, tables, racks, sinks, floor mats, and disposal areas.
• Clean ovens, hoods, filters, drains, hot boxes, and ceiling vents.
• Empty all trash cans.
• Perform special cleaning projects as assigned.
• Follow safety procedures when using all equipment and cleaning products.
• Know proper washing/rinsing/pre-soaking temperatures for pots, pans, utensils, glasses.
• Receive deliveries and stock items in proper areas.
• Follow sanitation procedures for items not washable by dishwasher.
• Maintain cleanliness of loading dock and dumpster area.

Position Summary

Utility Persons|Kitchen General Cleaners are responsible for the storage and sanitation of all dinnerware, silverware, and glassware in the hotel.

Essential Functions

• Operate dishwashing machines.
• Ensure dishwasher temperature is within the specified range and the chemicals are properly connected to the machine.
• Properly clean and disinfect the dishwashing machine.
• Sweep and mop floors. Check for broken items on the floor and wet areas that may be hazardous and remove the hazard.
• Clean walls, tables, racks, sink floor mats, and disposal areas.
• Clean ovens, hoods, filters, drains, hot boxes, and ceiling vents.
• Empty all trash cans.
• Perform special cleaning projects as assigned.
• Understand and use safety procedures when using all equipment. Understand chemical hazards and follow safety procedures when using chemicals, chemical compounds, and cleaning products.
• Know the correct temperature for washing, rinsing, and pre-soaking of all pots, pans, utensils, plates, and glasses.
• Receive deliveries and place stock items in the proper area.
• Follow proper sanitation procedures for sanitizing items that are unable to be washed with the dishwasher.
• Maintain cleanliness of the loading dock and dumpster area.

Additional Responsibilities

• Adhere to all work rules, procedures, and policies established by the hotel, including, but not limited to, those contained in the employee handbook.
• The hotel operates 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. Department schedules must accommodate fluctuating business demands, and employees may be asked to work shifts other than those they prefer or normally work.
