Job summary

Merchants Distributors, Inc. (MDI) is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform on-site upkeep, operate light equipment, and support safety programs at our facilities.

The role runs Monday through Friday, 7:00am to 3:00pm, and requires a valid driver's license and a high school diploma. You may operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other tools, paint structures, perform grounds upkeep, and assist higher level technicians with the SQF program.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; valid driver's license.
• 0–1 year related experience or training preferred.
• Ability to operate tools and lightweight equipment safely.
• Must be able to bend, twist and lift up to 70 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and scissor lifts when certified.
• Maintain safety standards and wear PPE as required.
• Paint structures and perform upkeep on grounds and landscaping.
• Fill in for Battery Changers when needed.
• Assist technicians with SQF program responsibilities.
• Support facility maintenance projects and attend trainings.
• Perform any other tasks as assigned by supervision.

Overview

Major Functions: Responsible for maintenance, up-keep, and contracts for MDI Management properties.

Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:00am - 3:00pm

Responsibilities

• Certified or can become certified to operate equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, scissor lifts, etc.
• Understands Safety principles in areas such as job site safety and personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Paints structures, uses hand and power tools, repairs tools and equipment, and performs upkeep on grounds and landscaping.
• Fills in for Battery Changers when needed.
• Assist higher level technicians in maintaining the Safe Quality Food (SQF) program.
• Assist in any project related to maintaining the facilities.
• Attend and successfully complete any training as assigned by management.
• May be required to perform other tasks as assigned by supervision.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
• 0 to 1 year of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• High standard of integrity and professionalism.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Must be able bend, twist, and lift to 70 lbs. and pass lifting test
