Job summary

Merchants Distributors, LLC in Hickory, NC seeks a Maintenance Technician to manage maintenance, upkeep, and contracts for MDI Management properties. Certification to operate equipment like forklifts and pallet jacks may be required or pursued.

Following safety guidelines, you will use hand and power tools, perform groundskeeping, support the SQF program, and assist senior technicians on facility projects. Training will be provided as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• 0–1 year related experience or training.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Must be able to bend, twist, and lift to 70 lbs.
• Able to pass lifting test.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance, up-keep, and contracts for MDI Management properties.
• Certified to operate equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks (certification possible).
• Follow safety principles and PPE requirements.
• Paint structures and perform groundskeeping; use hand and power tools.
• Fill in for Battery Changers when needed.
• Assist higher level technicians with SQF program support.
• Assist on projects related to facility maintenance.
• Attend and complete trainings as assigned by management.
• May perform other tasks as assigned by supervision.

Job description

Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:00am - 3:00pm

Responsibilities

• Responsible for maintenance, up-keep, and contracts for MDI Management properties.
• Certified or can become certified to operate equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, scissor lifts, etc.
• Understands Safety principles in areas such as job site safety and personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Paints structures, uses hand and power tools, repairs tools and equipment, and performs upkeep on grounds and landscaping.
• Fills in for Battery Changers when needed.
• Assist higher level technicians in maintaining the Safe Quality Food (SQF) program.
• Assist in any project related to maintaining the facilities.
• Attend and successfully complete any training as assigned by management.
• May be required to perform other tasks as assigned by supervision.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
• 0 to 1 year of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• High standard of integrity and professionalism.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Must be able bend, twist, and lift to 70 lbs. and pass lifting test
