Job summary

Merchants Distributors, Inc. (MDI) is seeking a Facilities Technician to support maintenance, up-keep, and contract obligations for MDI Management properties in North Carolina.

Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:00am - 3:00pm. Responsibilities include operating forklifts and related equipment, following safety procedures and PPE, performing grounds upkeep, painting structures, and assisting higher level technicians with the Safe Quality Food (SQF) program and facility projects.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 0–1 year related experience or training.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to bend, twist, and lift to 70 lbs and pass lifting test.
• High integrity and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Paint structures, use hand and power tools, repair tools and equipment, and perform upkeep on grounds and landscaping.
• Fill in for Battery Changers when needed.

• Assist in projects related to maintaining the facilities.
• Attend and complete training as assigned by management.
• May be required to perform other tasks as assigned by supervision.
