The primary purpose of the Utility Maintenance Specialist 1 classification is to maintain proper operation for sewage treatment plants, water distribution, and wastewater collection systems for county customers per EPA requirements.

Knowledge of safety practices; agency policies and procedures; chemistry field tests. Skills in equipment operation. Ability to follow detailed but basic written and oral instructions; understand mechanical procedures; perform basic math; read simple sentences; recognize safety warnings; work independently; cooperate with coworkers; demonstrate physical fitness and agility.
High School diploma or GED with one (1) year of utility experience or relevant training and experience.
Ohio Class A CDL with tanker endorsement must be obtained within six (6) months of employment. Valid Ohio driver’s license required.
