Job summary

The City of Rowlett, TX is seeking a Utilities Service Coordinator to identify in the field the city’s water, sewer, traffic signals and fiber assets. Under general supervision, you will locate underground infrastructure, mark locations, and maintain accurate records of field measurements and maps.

You will work with contractors and field crews to coordinate shutdowns, repairs, and service upgrades with minimal disruption, review as-built plats and plans, and ensure compliance with state

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus 4 years of utility construction or related experience, or equivalent combination.
• Familiarity with water distribution, wastewater systems, and traffic signals is preferred.
• Knowledge of safety practices and field measurement techniques.

Responsibilities

• Locate underground City infrastructure by marking utilities with flags and paint.
• Determine and mark location of water and wastewater mains from plans and maps.
• Coordinate shutdowns with contractors and field crews to minimize service disruption.
• Maintain records of labor, equipment, and material costs for utility projects.
• Assist with direction of field crews installing new water and wastewater services.
