Job summary

SAWS in San Antonio is seeking a Field Utility Coordinator II to perform field and administrative work in support of utility location, hydrant program, and water/wastewater responses. You will evaluate priorities and coordinate assignments to minimize service disruption.

The role uses INFOR CMMS, GIS maps, and on-site inspections to verify work and maintain records. An automatic progression to Senior after 5 years is included.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Three years’ experience in construction, water, wastewater or similar work environment.
• Valid Class C Texas Driver’s License.
• TCEQ Class C Water Distribution Operator License within 24 months of hire or TCEQ Class II Wastewater Collection Operator License with 24 months of hire.
• Ability to report to work on time and maintain good attendance.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates field assignments and resources to support operations.
• Accurately locates underground utilities and coordinates with contractors.
• Works with agencies to schedule utility locates for projects.
• Inspects on-site to ensure standards and contractor alignment with policies.
• Maintains documentation and uses GIS/block maps for daily tasks.
• Communicates effectively with internal/external stakeholders and customers.
