Job summary

The City of Victoria TX is seeking a Utility Crew Leader to plan, oversee, and participate in installation, maintenance, repair, and construction of the city’s utility infrastructure.

Essential duties include supervising crews, maintaining systems, and ensuring safety and regulatory compliance. Candidates should have strong leadership, experience in public works, and relevant licenses. Benefits include a comprehensive package for full-time employees.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 5+ years in public works maintenance and construction.
• Class B CDL with tanker endorsement.
• Class II Wastewater Collection license or higher.
• Class C Water Distribution license or higher.
• Experience supervising, leading, and inventory management.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Receive and assign daily tasks; train crews safely.
• Maintain collections systems, install taps, and service lines.
• Oversee sewer equipment maintenance including vacuum and jet tools.
• Identify cross connections; oversee water service taps and mains.
• Plan valve exercise and replacement programs.
• Address citizen concerns and enforce safety policies.
