Job summary

Information Consulting Services in New York is seeking an experienced Estimator to develop cost estimates for large-scale transmission, substation, and infrastructure projects. The role works with engineering and construction teams to advance early-planning estimates.

You should have a civil construction background with utility experience, especially in electrical infrastructure, and be comfortable coordinating across multiple trades while meeting tight deadlines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 5+ years estimating utility or large infrastructure projects.
• Experience estimating transmission or substation projects.
• Strong civil construction background.
• Knowledge of electrical construction and utility systems.
• Experience reviewing drawings and specs.
• Analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Proficiency with MS Office, MS Project, and estimating software.

Responsibilities

• Develop conceptual, authorization, and appropriation cost estimates.
• Review scopes, drawings, sketches, and docs to prepare estimates.
• Evaluate alternative approaches for design and execution.
• Collaborate with engineering, construction, and PM teams.
• Prepare multidiscipline estimates (civil, electrical, mechanical, construction).
• Analyze labor, equipment, materials, subcontractors costs.
• Assist budgeting and project planning aligning with objectives.
• Use estimating software, databases, MS Office, MS Project.
• Manage multiple estimates to meet deadlines.
• Ensure estimates meet standards and best practices.
