Job summary

Foundation Personnel Inc. seeks an experienced Electrical Estimator with a background in substation construction or the electric utility industry.

You will prepare detailed estimates for electrical and substation construction projects and review drawings and contract documents to determine project scope and costs. You will work with Project Management and Construction teams, complete take-offs, obtain vendor quotes, and participate in pre-construction meetings.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of electrical construction estimating experience.
• Experience within substations, transmission, distribution or the wider electric utility industry.
• Strong knowledge of electrical construction methods, materials and costs.
• Experience with Accubid or similar estimating software.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project experience is a plus.
• Pennsylvania-based preferred.
• Willingness to travel occasionally to offices and project sites.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed estimates for electrical and substation construction projects.
• Review drawings, specifications and contract documents to determine project scope and costs.
• Complete material and labor take-offs.
• Obtain and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotes.
• Prepare competitive bids and proposals.
• Identify project risks, scope gaps and potential change orders.
• Work closely with Project Management and Construction teams throughout the estimating and project handover process.
• Attend pre-construction and project meetings as required.
