Insight Global is seeking an Electrical Estimator to support one of our largest utility clients in the NYC area. This is a 1-year contract-to-hire opportunity for transmission and distribution projects across Manhattan and Staten Island.

The role involves developing cost estimates for complex substation construction and transmission projects, using early-stage drawings, civil drawings, plans, and sketches to project costs. Collaboration with engineering and project teams is essential.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years experience estimating complex electrical projects.
• Experience estimating substation or transmission facilities.
• Ability to use early-stage drawings and scopes to build estimates.
• Ability to read civil drawings and provide constructability feedback.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

Responsabilités

• Develop conceptual, authorization, and appropriation cost estimates for substation and transmission projects.
• Estimate electrical, mechanical, and civil components of utility projects.
• Review drawings and scopes to build project estimates.
• Provide constructability and cost feedback on drawings.
• Support budgeting and cost planning for capital projects.
• Manage multiple estimates and projects with changing priorities.
• Collaborate with engineering, construction, project management, and other stakeholders.
• Utilize Microsoft Project, Microsoft Office, estimating applications, and project databases.
