Job summary

Transdev in Sandusky, OH is seeking a Utility Worker/Service Employee to perform basic vehicle servicing and support fleet operations. The role emphasizes safety and customer service in a transit environment.

We offer a non-CBA position with competitive pay, vacation, sick days, holidays, and standard benefits such as medical, dental, vision, and a 401(k) plan. This is a full-time position with daytime and shift flexibility.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license for a minimum of 3 years.
  • Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.
  • Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the cleanliness of fleet vehicles - interior and exterior.
  • Driving, maneuvering, and parking vehicles.
  • Fueling buses, replenishing fluids, and logging and recording all fluids.
  • Downloading drive cameras & probes fare boxes.
  • Perform light maintenance to shop areas, fueling stations, and related facilities.
  • Report maintenance issues to supervisor.
  • Other duties as required.

Transdev in Sandusky, OH is hiring a Utility Worker/Service Employee. The Utility Worker/Service Employee is required to perform basic vehicle servicing duties. We are looking for customer service-oriented professionals who are dedicated to safety.

  • Competitive compensation package of Minimum $18.00 / hour - $19.00 / hour
Benefits include:
  • Vacation: minimum of two (2) weeks
  • Sick days: 5 days

Physical Requirements:

The essential functions of this position require the ability to:

  • Work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions-100% of the job is performed outside, work alone and in remote locations.
  • Sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per day); frequently walk for long distances and on possible sloped ground or slippery and uneven surfaces
  • Push and pull objects up to 50 pounds, occasionally throughout the workday; lift material weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to files or equipment stored at ground level
  • Withstand heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job; tolerate exposure to considerable amounts of dust, vehicle fumes and noise.
