Utility Worker / Service Employee

Transdev in Sandusky, OH is hiring a Utility Worker / Service Employee to perform basic vehicle servicing duties. Candidates should be customer‑service oriented and dedicated to safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain the cleanliness of fleet vehicles— interior and exterior
  • Drive, maneuver, and park vehicles
  • Fuel buses, replenish fluids, and log all fluid usage
  • Download drive‑camera footage, probe fare boxes
  • Perform light maintenance in shop areas, fueling stations, and related facilities
  • Report maintenance issues to supervisor
  • Other duties as required
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license for at least three (3) years
  • Ability to work shifts or flexible schedules as needed
  • Subject to DOT drug testing and physical exam; DOT regulations prohibit Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason
Physical Requirements
  • Work outside in varying temperatures, weather, and humidity; 100% of the job is performed outdoors, often alone and in remote locations
  • Sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per day); frequently walk over long distances and on sloped or uneven surfaces
  • Push or pull objects up to 50 pounds; lift objects up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to reach equipment stored at ground level
  • Work in heavy traffic areas and tolerate exposure to dust, vehicle fumes, and noise
