Job summary

The City of Americus is seeking a Revenue Collector to manage revenue collection activities for utility billing, including in-house accounts and coordination with an outside agency. The role supports Customer Service and the Finance Department, ensuring accurate posting and reporting of receipts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, or closely related field.
• Two years’ experience in government accounting, finance, or closely related experience.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and direct revenue collection activities for utility billing.
• Back up manager for Customer Service Administrator.
• Process, print, and post utility bills and service fees to customer accounts.
• Monitor aging accounts and coordinate with outside agency for debt collection.
• Prepare reconciliations of receivable sub-ledger to fund ledger and print statements.
• Distribute activity reports on debt collection and cash collections.
• Assist frontline Customer Service Representatives in the Finance Department.
