Job summary

The City of Fridley is seeking an Accounting Technician – Utility Billing to join its Finance Department. You will manage utility accounts, process monthly bills, handle billing questions, and ensure accurate financial records while delivering excellent customer service.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma (or equivalent), two years in utility billing, and proficiency in Microsoft Office. A related degree is desirable and local government experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of work experience in utility billing or related function.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Provides customer service over the telephone, in person, email and written correspondence to identify, report and solve problems related to utility billing.
• Performs and assists with all functions of the utility billing process.
• Sets up new address accounts and maintains customer accounts.
• Performs data entry, consumption analysis and adjustments.
• Processes all aspects of the monthly billing statements.
• Organizes, analyzes and enters meter reading data.
