Job summary

The City and County of Broomfield is hiring a Utilities Technician I to help maintain the water distribution and wastewater systems. The role involves responding to repairs, operating field equipment, and supporting major maintenance work across the Distribution and Collections Division.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED, a Class B CDL (within 6 months), and Class 1 Water Distribution certification (within one year). Requires lifting and on-call weekend work as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Class B CDL license required (within 6 months of hire).
• Class 1 Water Distribution certification required within 1 year of hire.
• Must be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Assist with maintenance of the water distribution system.
• Respond to main breaks, backups, and repairs of utilities systems.
• Operate and maintain construction and maintenance equipment used in the department.
• Provide on-call coverage during emergencies and off-hours as needed.
• Follow safety and security standards in all tasks.
