Job summary

Los Alamos National Laboratory is seeking an Operations Specialist at either the 3 or 4 level to support the Water, Gas, and Wastewater team within the Utilities & Infrastructure division. The role collaborates with maintenance, engineering, and ICS teams to ensure safe, compliant operations across utility networks on site in Los Alamos, NM.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree and several years of related experience; higher level responsibilities include risk identification and resource

Qualifications

• Ability to interpret mechanical/electrical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
• Strong knowledge of safety practices, hazards, and lock-out/tag-out policies.
• Experience supervising or coordinating craft work on construction and maintenance projects.
• Ability to contribute to process improvements and new methods.
• Ability to work independently and with minimal direction.

Responsibilities

• Establish work priorities, assign tasks, and oversee daily operations.
• Collaborate with UI managers to ensure LOTO is implemented per procedures.
• Facilitate installation and verification of meters in water/gas distribution.
• Coordinate with ICS to establish pressure/flow monitoring systems.
• Plan, schedule, and execute operations and maintenance activities.
• Review and approve field documentation for job activities.
