Job summary

The City of Villa Rica is seeking a seasoned Utilities Manager to oversee Water Operations, Wastewater Operations, and Distribution Operations. This management role directs staff, ensures safe and compliant operation of treatment plants, collection and distribution systems, and coordinates contracts and capital projects.

Responsibilities include staff supervision, budget administration, reporting, and liaison with residents and city leadership.

Qualifications

• Requires state licensure in wastewater and water operations with related certifications or transferable credentials.
• Progressive supervisory experience in utilities operations preferred.
• Knowledge of local, state, and federal water/sewer regulations and environmental rules.

Responsibilities

• Supervise staff, train employees, evaluate performance, and manage issues.
• Oversee field activities for water/wastewater systems and pump stations.
• Prepare reports, budgets, and capital project plans; monitor safety compliance.
• Coordinate contracts, purchasing, and vendor relationships; respond to citizen inquiries.
