Job summary

The City of Villa Rica invites applications for a senior manager to oversee the Water Operations, Wastewater Operations, and Distribution Operations divisions. This role directs plant operations, maintenance programs, and contract management to ensure reliable water and sewer services for Villa Rica residents.

Reporting to the Utilities Director, you will lead staff, manage budgets, and guide safety compliance across multiple facilities, including treatment plants and distribution networks.

Qualifications

• Georgia Class I Wastewater Operator License (or license transferable to GA)
• Georgia Class II Water Operator License (or license transferable to GA)
• 7–10 years of progressively responsible supervisory experience
• Georgia State certification for Water Distribution and/or Wastewater Collection
• Valid Georgia driver's license, Class C
• Accumulative knowledge/experience may substitute licensure requirements

Responsibilities

• Supervises staff, trains employees, evaluates performance, and manages performance issues.
• Oversees water, wastewater, and distribution operations and staff.
• Plans and schedules tasks; assigns work and reviews progress.
• Prepares reports and maintains records for water and sewer activities.
• Assists in capital projects planning and contract management.
• Ensures safety compliance and monitors regulatory requirements.
• Acts as Department Director in the Utilities Director's absence.
• Coordinates with residents for issue resolution and service improvements.
