Job summary

Town of Purcellville (VA) seeks a Maintenance Technician - Utilities to perform intermediate skilled trades work, including inspecting sewer lines, repairing water mains, installing and maintaining streets and drainage facilities, and operating heavy equipment. Work is under close supervision of the Maintenance Team Lead - Utilities.

Qualifications

• Requires High School diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of streets drainage, buildings, grounds and utilities.
• Ability to understand and follow oral instructions; manual labor in varied weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Perform street maintenance such as pothole and curb repair.
• Mow and trim Town facilities and properties; some landscaping.
• Install, maintain and repair traffic control devices and street signs.
• Assist with snow removal and ice control.
• Paint curbs and related projects; basic carpentry, plumbing and electrical tasks.
• Assist with setup and teardown of Town events.
• Other duties as assigned.
