Job summary

City of Heath is seeking a Maintenance Worker - Utilities to support water and wastewater facilities. You will maintain, repair and install system components, read meters, and service lift stations to ensure reliable operations.

The role requires a 2-year related experience or equivalent, a high school diploma or GED, and a valid Texas driver’s license. On-call duties include nights, weekends, and holidays; residency within a 60-minute response time is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school graduation or GED plus two years of related experience.
• Or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair and install items relating to water and wastewater systems.
• Operates various types of equipment necessary in daily repair, installation and maintenance.
• Maintains and repairs water mains, wastewater mains, service lines and meters.
• On call for nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
• Install, connect, service and read water meters.
• Repair lift stations.
• Adhere to safety procedures and wear required PPE.
• Potentially assist street and park departments as needed.
