Job summary

Boehringer Ingelheim seeks a Field Engineer, Utilities Maintenance (Electrical) to support electrical systems, HVAC/R, and boiler operations in a manufacturing environment. You will troubleshoot, perform PMs, repair, modify, and ensure reliability of plant equipment.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED with 5+ years in manufacturing maintenance; journeyman electrician license for Electrical focus; EPA Universal Refrigeration Technician for HVAC/R; 1st class boiler operator license for

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED with 5+ years maintenance in manufacturing/operations.
Electrical focus requires Journeyman Electrician license; supervisory/leadership experience preferred.
HVAC/R focus requires EPA Universal Refrigeration Technician certification; supervisory/leadership preferred.
Boiler Operations focus requires 1st class boiler operator license; experience with high‑pressure boilers.

Responsibilities

Maintains utility equipment supporting production schedules and quality requirements.
Troubleshoots and implements corrective actions for performance issues.
Identifies and seeks approvals for equipment upgrades to improve reliability.
Trains equipment owners and maintenance personnel on operation and care of electro‑mechanical equipment.
Supports engineering projects involving electro‑mechanical applications from design to testing and implementation.
Follows company policy/SOPs including safety, training, and environmental requirements.
Coordinates with planners and supervisors to ensure scheduling information is communicated and work orders are completed on time.
Performs additional duties as assigned and uses CMMS to document work and PMs.
