NC State’s Utilities Distribution team is responsible for maintaining and repairing essential systems that support research facilities, academic buildings, residence halls, and athletic spaces. Our mission includes ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, providing emergency response, and delivering expert in-house repair and installation services for steam, stormwater, chilled water, sanitary sewer, and domestic water systems.
As a Utilities Distribution Technician, you’ll play a key role in maintaining and repairing these vital systems across NC State’s Main, Centennial, and CBC campuses. This position involves skilled mechanical and piping work, diagnostics, and repairs for systems like steam tunnels, pump stations, heat exchangers, PRVs, and grease traps. You’ll also contribute to new construction installations, renovations, and welding projects, ensuring uninterrupted support for research, academic, and animal hospital facilities.
