Job summary

The City of Englewood, CO seeks an experienced Utility System Technician to perform semi-skilled labor and operate equipment for water distribution and wastewater collection systems. Overtime, weekend, and on-call duties are mandatory to respond within one hour for emergencies.

This is a safety-sensitive position with on-site responsibilities and training opportunities. Reporting to Utilities Distribution & Collection Supervisors, the role requires a High School Diploma or GED and a valid CDL.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must be able to respond within one hour when on call.
• Experience in water distribution or wastewater systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs maintenance, repair, replacement, and installation of water distribution and wastewater collection systems.
• Maintains and operates water systems, assists in excavation and repair of waterlines and related infrastructure.
• Takes a lead role in the field and provides on-the-job training and guidance to other employees.
• Reads maps and plans to plan fieldwork and projects.
