You will join a team of eight designers, collaborate with design and engineering leads, and own end-to-end UX/UI work across web, mobile, and dashboards, setting accessibility and quality standards.
Title: UX/ UI Designer
Pay Rate: $55 per hour
Duration: 6-month contract, possible conversion to full-time or extension
Hours: Full-time, 40 hrs/week
Priority: High, immediate start
Our client has laid the foundation of its Design System, and a growing product portfolio means it needs to grow too. They are looking for an experienced UX/UI designer who builds and architects design systems, not just uses them.
The immediate priority is bringing products from recently acquired companies into one unified interface, so clinical users (mainly nurses) face less cognitive load. The goal is to get the design system to 85% operational within six months.
A key part of this role is using AI to make the design system work harder. That means structuring it so AI agents and coding assistants can find and use its components for fast proof-of-concept builds, and finding AI-driven ways to build and maintain the system itself.
You will join a team of 8 designers and work mainly with design and development leads.
A typical day: Meeting with lead designers to identify new components, then planning and executing the work to design and update the system.
Clinical settings prize speed and efficiency over flashy consumer design. Designers without this context often create interfaces that get in the way of clinical workflows.
Bachelor's degree in Interaction Design, HCI, Graphic/Visual Design or a related field, or 3–4 additional years of relevant design work.
