Intelerad is hiring a UI/UX Researcher & Designer for a remote role where you will take ownership of both research and design across one or more product areas. You will partner with product managers, developers, and end users to translate complex clinical needs and business goals into intuitive, high-quality user experiences.
In this position, you will ground decisions in rigorous user research, turn insights into usable interfaces, and help elevate the overall UX practice across the team through reusable knowledge and clear collaboration.
What you’ll do
- Independently plan and lead qualitative and quantitative UX research across the product lifecycle using field studies, direct observation, interviews, workflow and task analysis, usability testing, and surveys.
- Set research priorities and select appropriate methodologies for your product area with product management, including recruiting participants and moderating sessions with clinicians and other end users.
- Synthesize research into personas, journey maps, and actionable insights, then translate findings into design and product recommendations that influence roadmap decisions.
- Own and continuously evolve the research repository so results remain discoverable and inform current and future work.
- Design intuitive interfaces from concept through release by applying user goals, clinical workflows, and product requirements to produce usable screen layouts, interaction patterns, and UI elements.
- Own design work end to end, delivering wireframes, storyboards, functional prototypes, and detailed specifications for developers, QA, and technical writers.
- Drive creation and adoption of design standards to ensure consistency across the product suite, and support developers with UI design decisions and implementation trade-offs.
- Build trust with users through empathy, active listening, and strong facilitation to understand goals, workflows, and challenges.
- Present design and research findings clearly to audiences that range from engineers to product leadership, and lead critique sessions to support alignment and quality.
- Mentor and provide feedback to less experienced designers and researchers, sharing methods and best practices.
What you bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), User Experience (UX) Design, Interaction Design, Human Factors / Ergonomics, Psychology, Graphic Design, or equivalent experience.
- 4+ years of experience in UI/UX design and UX research, with a portfolio showing strong web and mobile design capabilities and end-to-end research work.
- Proficiency with industry-standard design tools including Figma and/or Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, XD, or equivalent).
- Demonstrated experience with wireframing, prototyping, and producing design specifications.
- Proven ability to plan and lead user research independently using qualitative and quantitative methods, and to synthesize results into personas, journey maps, and actionable insights.
- Familiarity with UX research tools and repositories such as Dovetail, UserZoom, Optimal Workshop, or similar.
- Strong knowledge of HCI principles and UX best practices.
- Ability to communicate design rationale and research findings to technical and non-technical audiences, including senior stakeholders.
