User Experience Designer III - Contract – Remote USA Only

W2 Only $45-50/hr.

Overview:

We’re seeking a User Experience Designer III with strong enterprise UX experience and a passion for simplification. You will work on transforming deeply complex configuration tools originally built for large enterprise clients into approachable, intuitive interfaces tailored to the SMB (Small-to-Medium Business) market.

This role supports the Genius platform under Global Payments, the next-generation evolution of Xenial, which aims to unify the sophistication of enterprise platforms with the simplicity expected by SMB users.

Key Responsibilities:

• Translate enterprise workflows into simplified SMB user experiences (e.g., setup wizards, question-based forms, and smart defaults)
• Collaborate closely with product, engineering, and design teams to develop modular, reusable UI components
• Design responsive UI across various breakpoints, supporting mobile-first and desktop workflows
• Break down complex configuration systems into scalable UX logic balancing automation and customization
• Create wireframes, user flows, interactive prototypes, and final design assets
• Lead or participate in UX workshops and design sessions focused on system simplification and user onboarding
• Work with UX researchers to validate assumptions and iterate designs based on user feedback
• Maintain consistency with the design system while also contributing new patterns based on user and business needs

Required Skills:

• 5+ years of UX/Product Design experience, especially in enterprise SaaS or configuration-intensive platforms
• Experience creating onboarding flows, setup wizards, or configuration-driven UIs
• Expertise in responsive design, mobile UX, and component-based design systems
• Ability to simplify complex systems into clear mental models and workflows
• Proficient in Figma, with strong documentation and developer handoff skills
• Skilled in working within cross-functional teams (PMs, engineers, researchers)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with service design, systems thinking, or SMB-oriented UX transformation
• Advanced training or certification in UX, systems thinking, or enterprise design

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), UX Design, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
• Advanced UX certifications a plus
