Job summary

Suburban Volvo Cars in Troy, MI is seeking a Class C Automotive Technician to support our growing used-vehicle operations. You will perform repairs, diagnose malfunctions, and ensure safety, quality, and proper operation through road tests and precise documentation.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of automotive technician experience.
• Manufacturer certification in core repair areas.
• Minimum of 1 ASE certification (ASE Master Technician preferred).
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• High school diploma or equivalent (required).
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs as outlined on repair orders with efficiency and accuracy.
• Diagnose causes of vehicle malfunctions and complete repairs independently.
• Complete all work in compliance with safety requirements.
• Road-test vehicles to ensure quality and proper operation.
• Accurately track time using company timekeeping systems.
• Thoroughly document repairs, diagnostics, and test results.
• Maintain and supply your own set of standard technician tools.
• Properly use and return special tools and shop equipment.
• Use shop materials responsibly and efficiently.
• Maintain a clean, organized workspace and complete daily stall cleaning.
• Ensure all vehicles are returned in clean condition.
• Complete required training and stay current with technical bulletins.
• Maintain and pursue manufacturer and ASE certifications.
• Communicate effectively with team members and management.
• Follow dealership policies related to safety, professionalism, and attendance.

Technical Competency (Class C Level): Must be able to perform without supervision:

• Lube & Maintenance Services

• Engine Repair

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of automotive technician experience

• Manufacturer certification in core repair areas

• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record

• High school diploma or equivalent (required)
