McDonald Mazda West in Lakewood, CO seeks an automotive technician with 1-3 years of experience to diagnose and repair used vehicles to specifications. Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• 1-3 years automotive technician experience.
• Ability to drive and service various vehicle makes/models/sizes.
• Mechanical and troubleshooting skills and ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment.
• Team-oriented, flexible, and focused on maintaining a high level of customer service.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair used vehicles to specifications using diagnostic equipment.
• Tear down, repair, replace, and/or rebuild faulty assemblies on used vehicles.
• Rewire ignition systems, lights, and instrument panels and repair transmissions.
• Explain technical diagnosis and required repairs to non-mechanical individuals.

Compensation Overview

This role is based on flagged hours.

Experience & Qualifications Needed

• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• 1-3 years of automotive technician experience is required.
• Ability to drive and handle various vehicle makes models, and sizes.
• Mechanical and troubleshooting skills and ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment team-oriented, flexible, and focused on maintaining a high level of customer service.
• Working knowledge of shop equipment such as wheel and tire equipment, electrical, engine, alignment systems, diagnostic equipment, AC equipment, etc.

Essential Duties And Major Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair used vehicles to specifications, using equipment such as infrared engine analyzers, compression gauges, and computerized diagnostic devices.
• Tear down, repair, replace, and/or rebuild faulty assemblies such as power systems, steering systems, linkages, pistons, rods, gears, valves, and bearings for all used vehicles.
• Rewire ignition systems, lights, and instrument panels and repairs manual and automatic transmissions.
• Adequately explains the technical diagnosis and required repairs to non-mechanical individuals.
