Job summary

Napleton Hyundai of Carmel is seeking a Used Car Service Technician to perform repair and maintenance work on pre-owned vehicles in accordance with dealer and factory standards. This role offers exposure to a large dealer group and opportunities for career growth.

Responsibilities include diagnosing malfunctions, communicating with parts, road-testing when required, and supervising apprentices. A strong emphasis on safety, accuracy, and efficient service is essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• 5+ years of experience as a Pre-Owned Vehicles Technician is preferred.
• Willingness to undergo a background check in accordance with local law/regulations.
• 18+ years of age or older to comply with the company driving policy.

Responsibilities

• Perform repair and maintenance work as outlined on repair orders with efficiency and accuracy.
• Diagnose causes of malfunctions and perform repairs.
• Communicate with parts department to obtain needed parts; save and tag parts if under warranty or requested by customer.
• Examine vehicle to determine if additional safety or service work is required.
• Advise service advisor if additional work is needed or if repairs cannot be completed within promised time.
• Document work performed.
• Road-test vehicles when required.
• Supervise work of apprentice technicians as assigned; ensure vehicles are kept clean.
• Keep shop area neat and account for all tools.
• Follow regulations governing disposal of hazardous waste; adhere to safety rules and procedures.

Job Responsibilities:

  Ensure that customers’ cars are kept clean.
• Keep shop area neat and clean and be able to always account for all dealership-owned tools.
• Understand and follow federal, state, and local regulations, such as those governing the disposal of hazardous wastes. Road-test vehicles to quality-check work performed.
• Responsible for abiding by safety rules, regulations, and procedures that are endorsed by management.
  

Job Requirements:
