Job description

Position Summary

As a Tire & Battery Center Technician, you will work to provide safe and efficient service in both the sales and service areas of the department. Your goal is to deliver more of what our members love, for less. You will collaborate with other associates to ensure the club meets the member’s expectations.

What you'll do
  1. Be a Team Member: Collaborate with team members to fulfill sales and service requests, educate others on tools, tasks, resources, and mentor new technicians. Communicate effectively and develop interpersonal skills to provide safe and efficient customer service.
  2. Be an Expert: Demonstrate knowledge of safety and compliance protocols, tire and battery industry guidelines, service standards, equipment operations, TPMS, product specifications, and seasonality. Show proficiency with Point of Sale systems and sales techniques.
  3. Be a Techie: Use digital tools to plan and drive sales, improve service, and boost associate engagement. Utilize handheld technology for immediate business decisions related to services, safety alerts, and product information.
  4. Be an Owner: Communicate needs for equipment, tools, and supplies. Manage returns, operate cash registers, process transactions, maintain inventory, and ensure safety and compliance. Assist members with purchasing decisions and resolve issues.
  5. Be a Talent Ambassador: Promote high-quality service and products, develop and inspire others, and foster a respectful, supportive, and team-oriented environment. Understand and help overcome roadblocks, and train team members.
  6. Act with Integrity: Uphold high standards of integrity, ethics, and compliance. Model company values, hold yourself and others accountable, and support Walmart's goal of positive impact.
  7. Serve our Customers and Members: Deliver results with a customer-first approach. Make informed decisions, balance priorities, and consider the impact on the team and stakeholders.
  8. Strive for Excellence: Demonstrate curiosity, resilience, and support continuous improvement through new technologies and skills.

The hourly wage range for this position is $19.00 to $26.00, with actual pay meeting or exceeding the minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional premiums may apply based on specific circumstances.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Valid state-issued driver's license
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Successful completion of required trainings and assessments if selected
Preferred Qualifications

Experience in the auto service industry or retail is preferred.
