Position Summary...

As the Senior Manager, Creative Business Affairs, you will play a vital role in supporting WCS’s business affairs team to drive creative and brand success while safeguarding the interests of the enterprise. Your responsibilities include developing processes, templates, and guidelines to enhance creative and production operations. Leveraging your expertise in production, advertising, and a strong understanding of Walmart’s platforms and initiatives, you will contribute to a forward-thinking Business Affairs team that leads in production innovation. You will also focus on managing risk within production processes and guidelines, embracing an entrepreneurial spirit to address business and strategic challenges.

What you'll do...
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Finance, Procurement, Marketing Legal, Agency Relations, Media, Creative, and Marketing leads.
  • Analyze deal opportunities and formulate business strategies related to talent and production matters.
  • Monitor industry regulations and legal requirements for advertising and marketing, advising on compliance.
  • Support music and intellectual property licensing, including ideation and negotiation.
  • Draft and negotiate talent contracts, ensuring contractual obligations are met.
  • Conduct production audits, enforce governance, and recommend cost management strategies.
  • Manage relationships with agencies, representatives, and attorneys in the entertainment community.
  • Identify risks in marketing strategies, develop mitigation plans, and ensure policy adherence.
  • Set operational standards and guidelines for AI tools in creative and production workflows.
  • Manage deadlines and complex projects with a solution-oriented, detail-focused approach.
  • Operate effectively in a highly creative, flexible environment.
  • Provide strategic business affairs advice aligned with legal and regulatory changes.
  • Prepare and present reports on business affairs activities and compliance to senior management.
  • Foster a culture of excellence and accountability within the business affairs team.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years in business affairs, legal, or compliance roles within advertising and marketing, with proven contract negotiation experience.
  • Strong knowledge of advertising laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills; proficiency in contract management and budgeting tools.
  • Experience with social media, platform integrations, broadcast, and new media.
  • Meticulous review skills for reports and contracts to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Strategic thinking with the ability to balance creative needs with business advice.
  • Knowledge of digital marketing, media buying, and production processes.
  • Familiarity with industry guidelines, union work (SAG-AFTRA, AFM, IATSE), branded partnerships, and emerging technologies like AR, VR, AI, Web3, avatars.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; JD preferred.
